.::Pretend like it's the Weekend::.

"Can't you see that its just raining? Ain't no need to go outside... but Baby, you hardly even notice when I try to show you this song is meant to keep ya from doing what your supposed to, like waking up too early. Maybe we can sleep in. I'll make you banana pancakes; pretend like its the weekend now. We could pretend it all the time..."

Engagement Photos

"[L] is for the way you look at me, [O] is for the only one I see, [V] is very, very extraordinary, [E] is even more than anyone that you adore."

Hello everyone,

I've been pretty busy with school... as anticipated. Right now I'm working on my legal memo (about primary assumption of risk in a Tiger Woods negligence case ~ pretty funny, dad and Jason would enjoy it) and I've just finished 3 of my 4 midterms. They don't count, but they're intended to give us a taste of law school exams. I think I've done alright so far, but I guess I'll see how well I did when I get the results.

This past weekend I went home to visit Jason in Anaheim and while we were getting my anniversary present resized (a cross necklace he got me from the same jewelry store he got my engagement ring at), we stopped at a coffee shop and ran into a photographer who needed models for engagement photos for a Wedding Convention in Orange County. She took our pics for free in downtown Orange and will be sending me free proofs of the shoot. We did it in a local cupcake shop called "The Perfect Circle." I'm still interested in getting beach photos, but these are pretty cute too. You can access more of the photos on the photographer's blog here:

Venues

So far I have requested information from three venues regarding pricing:

The Laguna Cliffs Resort and Spa (Marriott of Dana Point): http://www.lagunacliffs.com/weddings/

The St. Regis's Sunset Terrace (also located in Dana Point): http://www.stregismb.com/meet_venues.aspx

The L'Auberge in Del Mar (near San Diego): http://www.laubergedelmar.com/romantic-san-diego-weddings.php

All of these places are really pretty and definitely fit the vision in my mind. I would like to secure a venue by February. So far the date I am saying I'm interested in is August 4, 2011. We'll see what availability and pricing is on this day (it's a Thursday so hopefully cheaper). I am thinking we will have somewhere between 75-100 guests, so hopefully we can make a budget work in one of these or a similar location. Basically, these sites give an image of what I'm looking for.

I've been really busy with classes, which are a total 180 from what I'm used to. I have homework every night and it usually involves substantial reading. I like my torts and contracts classes best. Civ Pro is ok, and property is pretty blah for me. I have midterms all month long, so prayers are appreciated. They are all ungraded, but intended for us to get an idea for how tests look in law school as well as an estimate as to where we fall in class rankings. I also completed my first non-graded legal memo and will have another non-graded practice run due on the 24th, with the final memo due in November after my legal writing final exam - which is in early November. So everything is really beginning to pile on. It's not an understatement to say I feel like I've been hit by a train... a train called "Welcome to Law School." I'm enjoying my time, although it's really difficult, at school. My roommate Alex and I have really clicked. I'm looking forward to continuing to get to know her better.

In other news, I got a dress I want to wear for engagement photos. Jason and I will be getting those soon and sending them out. I think we will get them done in Corona del Mar. His dad or sister will likely be our photographer because we're not looking to spend serious cash on engagement pics.

Hope all is well with everyone in your neck of the woods. I'll try to keep you all updated, but I must confess it is unlikely I'll be blogging again this month seeing as how I have something major due each week. Yikes! Anyway, love you guys and I'll ttyl! <3
